Ruth Ellen Bowlin, 80, Haleyville, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Haleyville Health Care.

She was born May 28, 1931, to David Ellis and Ethel Pauline Bowlin in Richmond, Va.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her son, Harold Thomas Bowlin, Ricky Eugene Bowlin; grandson, Jerald Thomas Bowlin; four sisters, Mamie Hand, Bonnie Hartley, Ruby Della Bowlin, Helen Comeens; brother, Tommy Bowlin.

She is survived by her two daughters, Patsy Sue Bowlin, of Three Rivers, Mich., Hope Marie Bowlin Landers of Haleyville; three sons, Jackie Lee Dixon and wife, Jeanette, of Haleyville, Earl Wayne Bowlin and wife, Linda, of Jones, Mich., James Ray Bowlin of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, June Roper of Sevierville, Tenn., Wilma Dotson and husband, Jerry, of Haleyville, Barbara Harrell of Niles, Mich.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held later by the family with burial at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles, Mich.
