David Earl “Buck” McGough, 53, of Red Bay, Ala., died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at his residence.  He was born in Alabama to R.L. and Ruth Elrod McGough. He was a sawmill worker for Thorne and Thorne for 20 years.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 10, 2011 at Red Bay Holy Church of Christ with Bro. Jerry Taylor, Bro. Roger Aldridge and David Elrod officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery, Vina, Ala.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Ala. assisted the family.
He is survived by four sisters, Barbara Stidham and husband, Kenneth, Rita Smith and husband, Mike, and Betty Pounders, all of Vina, Ala. and Martha Wood and husband, Sherman, of Red Bay, Ala.; one brother, Jimmy McGough and wife, Sandy, of Dennis; special friends, Dorothy and Roy Lee Rollins; his caregivers, Sarah Peppers and Amy Williams; special cousin, Sissy Thompson; host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, James and Mae Elrod and John and Nancy McGough.
Pallbearers were Joel Horton, Mike Sparks, Colby McGough, Johnny Smith, Dale Gravitt and Stan Scott.  Honorary pallbearers were Randy Dees, Joey Thompson and his great-nephews.
