Calloway to play on television

Russellville’s Brent Calloway will participate in his final football game as a high school player today in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

The game, which is being played at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX., begins at noon and will be televised on NBC.

Calloway will be playing as a linebacker even though he spent much of his senior season as a running back for the Golden Tigers.

Calloway also played linebacker in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic, where he led the team with nine tackles.

This will be the second national honor for Calloway this week. He was honored as the SI.com high school player of the week a few days ago.
