PC looks to Sulligent’s title hopes

PHIL CAMPBELL — With its playoff hopes dashed, the Phil Campbell football team will turn to the role of spoiler for its final region game of the season.

The Bobcats host Sulligent this week and the Blue Devils are looking to claim a region title.

Sulligent can wrap up that title with a victory, but Phil Campbell can deny the Blue Devils that title if the Bobcats pull off the win and Colbert Heights beats Lexington.

Sulligent had been struggling in recent weeks, but seemed to shake them off in the Blue Devils’ 48-0 victory against Cherokee last week.

Sulligent is averaging 22.3 points per game and giving up 15.8 points per game.

Phil Campbell is coming off of its worst offensive performance of the season and is averaging 32 points per game while giving up 24.9 points per game.

With a win Phil Campbell can guarantee its first non-losing season since 2001.
