Authorities seek shooting suspect

Investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department are looking for a Franklin County man accused of shooting another man on Friday.
Namath Joe Jackson, 33, whose last known address is listed as 310 Plum Street in Russellville, has been charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree assault.
According to authorities, a call was placed to the Franklin County 911 Center between 1 – 2 p.m. on Friday where the caller stated there had been a possible shooting on Arnold Road outside of Phil Campbell.
When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they discovered a 31-year-old white male who had been shot in the hand one time.
According to the victim, he had seen people walking around in a field near his residence.
The victim walked to the edge of the woods where he was confronted by Jackson.
After a struggle, Jackson shot the victim in the hand one time before fleeing from the scene with items belonging to the victim, officials said.
The victim was taken to Russellville Hospital where he was treated and released the same day.
Authorities said Jackson has acquaintances in Franklin and Lauderdale counties and they believe he is still in the Phil Campbell area.
He is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes being 5’ 10” tall and weighing 180 pounds.
Jackson is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about this suspect is urged to contact the FCSD at their 24-hour number, 256-332-8820, or any local law enforcement agency.
