James P. Bevins, 63, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 at Red Bay Hospital.

He was born Feb. 14, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Harold and Lenore Storm Bevins. He was an employee of Gold Kist for 12 years and he served in the U.S. Air Force.

Services were Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Lumpkin officiating. Burial will be in Dempsey Cemetery in Russellville.

Survivors are his wife, Sandra Bevins, of Vina; eight children, Elizabeth Gassaway, of Vina; Tracy Waldrop and husband, Tim, of Florence, James Patrick Bevins and Jillian Bevins, both of Rodford, Ill., Justin Bevins, Jennifer Bevins and Joey Bevins, all of Illinois and Jacob Bevins, Mt. Carmel, Ill.; two sisters, Nora Bevins and husband, Denny, and Judy Bevinsand husband, Rick, all of Lancaster, Wis.; 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Danny Reed.
