William Douglas Wells, Sr., 84, entered into rest on Sept. 8, 2010 at ECM Hospital.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church of Russellville prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Terry DeFoor and Rev. Hal Nobles officiating.  Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Streetman Wells; daughter, Elizabeth Wells; parents, A.P. and Velma Wells; brother, Charles Wells.

Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Mary Crowder Wells; sons, Doug Wells, Jr. and wife, Nancy, David Wells and wife, Tammy; brothers, Billy Wells and wife, Peggy, Pete Wells, Hoyt Wells and wife, Juanita; sister, Dot Franks; seven grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bill Williams, Bobby Davis, Larry Wells, James Wells, Greg Franks, and Tim Wells.

Doug began preaching at the age of 16 and continued preaching and pastoring churches until the age of 83.  He served in both Baptist and Methodist Churches, always faithfully preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. 

The family expresses their appreciation and thanks to the staff at ECM ICU Unit, Dr. Hester and Dr. Holden.
