Don’t forget to go support local high school athletes
Friday marks the beginning of the high school football season and five area schools will be competing for a shot at making the playoffs.
The players have been working hard in an unusually hot summer to prepare for the season.
If you can, take time to get out to the schools to support and cheer on our local players. They have committed quite a bit of their time to take the field on Friday nights and having a large crowd to cheer them on provides inspiration as they battle region foes every week.
Of course, football is not the only fall sport in Franklin County — Russellville and Tharptown also have volleyball teams.
While volleyball might not be as popular as football, the players still work hard and would love to have fans come out and support them.
Don’t let our local athletes down. Visit a local high school and cheer on the teams. It is fun and the athletes would apreciate your support.
