Keith Ray Chesnut, 57, of Russellville, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010.

He was a native of Laurel, Miss., but most recently resided in Russellville. He had a 37 year career with Norfolk-Southern with the last 17 years serving as track supervisor.

He loved to be outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, spending time with his lab and cat, or being the “Master Chef” on the grill.

Chesnut was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roena and Ezra Mcneil of Louin, Miss., and his paternal grandparents Clinton Ray Sr. and Beatrice Chesnut; sister, Cheryl Read of Raleigh, Miss.; uncle, Lloyd Chesnut of Audrey, Texas, and Arthur Mcneil of Louin, Miss.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty Bergin Chesnut of Russellville; daughters, Clarissa Chesnut of Russellville and Melissa Chesnut Overstreet and husband Will of Pascagoula, Miss.; parents, Clinton Ray and Maxine Chesnut of Louin, Miss.; in-laws, Hugh A. Bergin Sr. and Annette of Laurel, Miss.; brother-in-law, Ron Read of Raleigh, Miss.; Hugh A. Bergin Jr. and wife Rhonda, of Laurel, Miss.; Pam and Bruce Walden of Tifton, Ga.;  Sheila Myrick of Laurel, Miss.; nephews Jonathon Myrick, Shawn Myrick, Rhyce Read and Graham Bergin; nieces Lindsey Read Brown, Courtney Read, Allyson Myrick and Gretchen Bergin.

Pallbearers will be Ron Read, Rene Read, Glenn Green, Bobby Cagle, Hugh Bergin Jr. and Will Overstreet.

Honorary pallbearers are Rhyce Read, Jonathan Myrick, Shawn Myrick and Graham Bergin.

Arrangements will be through Colonial Chapel of Bay Springs, Miss. Visitation will be Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. The funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home followed by the burial at Montrose Cemetery.
