William Granville Davis, 67, of Spruce Pine, Ala., passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Davis was a native of Miami, Fla., but had lived in this area for the past five years.  He was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and Eastern Airlines.

Funeral services were held July 12, 2010, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Jerome Sherrill officiating.  Burial was in Franklin Memory Gardens. 

He is survived by his wife, Janet Lee Phillips Davis; children, Timothy William Davis and wife, Pamela Ann Dolan Davis, of Jacksonville, Fla., and James Kevin Davis, of Orlando, Fla; sisters, Linda Marlene Whitehead, of Florence, Ala., Rita Carol Adkinson and husband, Fred, of Miami, Fla., Jill Michelle Dean and husband, Jimi, of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; step-mother, Corrine Faye Davis, of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; step-sisters, Patricia Zgodzinsky and husband, Ed, of Plantation, Fla., Candy Crum and husband, Stan, of  Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Bonnie Spivey, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; grandchildren, Mark William Davis, Kerri Ruth Davis, and Heather Lee Davis.

He was loved by a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Granville Davis and Willie Mae Stancil Davis; grandparents, Mattie Louella Porter Stancil and William Ervin Stancil, Detta Rose Devaney Davis and William Claude Davis.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, Birmingham, Ala.
