Clifford Hester

Clifford Chess Hester, 77, Russellville, Al died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at his residence. Chess was a lifetime resident of Franklin County.  He was a Christian, and a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He was a successful business owner and an avid hunter.  He was a greatly loved and cherished member of our family and we will miss him every day of our lives.

The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Ed Bragwell.  Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Hester; mother, Minnie Lee Tompkins; and daughter, Joy Ann Hester.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Aycock Hester; daughter, Edie Hester; son, Jehu Hester and wife, Debora); grandchildren, Suzy Britnell and husband, Jason, Carrie Hester, Will Hester, Summer Hester, Mollie Hester; great-grandchildren, Grayson Thorpe, Brennon Thorpe, Izzy Britnell, Gabby Britnell; sisters, Cratus Hester Bailey, Edith Hester Frazier and husband, Ji); and many nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers will be Will Hester, Mark Frazier, Jason Britnell, Miguel Mateo, Ricky James, Ike Rogers, Lester McMahan, and Kevin McMahan.
