RED BAY- Two Franklin County residents were taken into custody on Wednesday, Jan. 27 for allegedly producing a meth lab in their home.
Red Bay investigators said Jason Allen Dees, 36, and Kayla Lynn Russell, 23, of 607 9th Ave. N. in Red Bay were charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, chemical endangerment of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Franklin County investigators informed Red Bay investigators of the possible meth lab and a search of the residence was conducted, which led to the arrests.
Chemicals were also found in a vehicle belonging to Dees. Red Bay Police impounded the automobile shortly after the search, authorities said.
Officials said a one-year old child was present during the bust. The Department of Human Resources (DHR) was contacted and took charge of the child, authorities said.
Dees and Russell have both been released on bond.
