Lady Tigers top East Franklin

BELGREEN -The Red Bay ninth-grade girls team shut down East Franklin early to build a sizable lead on its way to the county title Monday with its 33-25 victory against the Lady Rebels.
The Lady Tigers led 14-5 by the end of the first quarter before East Franklin rallied to cut the deficit to 17-11 at halftime.
The Lady Tigers scored the first two baskets of the third quarter to extend their advantage to 10 points, but East Franklin closed out the quarter with a 4-0 run to pull back within six points.
Red Bay pushed its lead to 33-20 in the fourth quarter before the Lady Rebels closed the game with a 5-0 run.
Lexy Lindsey and Monique Dulaney led the Lady Tigers with seven points each while Alaina Hester added six. Kasey Sparks scored four points for Red Bay and Hannah Stockton added two points.
Autumn Thomas led East Franklin with eight points while Taylor Pace added seven and Kassy Baker scored six points.

Belgreen 33
Pace scored a game-high 17 points to lead East Franklin past Belgreen 25-33 Saturday during the semifinals of the county tournament.
Thomas added 13 points for the Lady Rebels while Baker scored four points and Madison Hardy scored one point.
Lexie Bragwell and Katelyn Scott scored eight points each to lead Belgreen. Also scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Darby Hargett (6), Chole Wallace (5), Haley Simmons (4) and Jasmine Rikard (2).
Red Bay 50,
Vina 20
The Lady Tigers led 26-10 at halftime and never looked back as they cruised to a 50-20 victory Saturday against Vina in the semifinals.
Sparks scored 12 points to lead Red Bay while Dulaney scored 11 points. Also scoring for the Lady Tigers were Stockton (7), Hester (7), and Lindsey (7), Elizabeth Wooten (6).
Miranda Howard led the Lady Red Devils with eight points while Fallyn Shotts score five points. Also scoring for Vina were Catlin Benstien (4), Sydney Upton (2) and Alex Miller (1).
