Vina led 6-3 at the end of the first quarter and pushed its lead to 10-5 in the second before Tharptown rallied to take an 11-10 lead. The Lady Red Devils hit four free throws late in the quarter to build a 14-11 advantage heading into halftime.
Neither team could build a sizable lead in the third and the teams entered the final quarter of play tied 22-22.
