A Russellville man was charged with third-degree robbery after allegedly robbing a local business owner at gunpoint Saturday night.
Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said Jonathan Lee Odom, 29, of 3554 Highway 59 of Russellville, was arrested and charged with the robbery of H&H Computers, located on Highway 43 in Russellville, at 6:20 p.m. Saturday.
"The owner of the business was taking the trash out Saturday night," Hargett said. "The man told the owner he had a gun."
Hargett said the cash was taken from the cash register, and the two small laptop was taken as the suspect left the business.
Hargett said $500 was taken from the register and two small laptops were taken as Odom fled the business on foot.
Odom is being held in the Russellville City Jail pending a bond hearing in District Court.
In an unrelated case, another theft occurred over the weekend. Hargett said officers were called to Marty's Meat Market Sunday night after someone drove a vehicle into the front of the store and took money from the business.
"Approximately $1,000 was taken from this business," Hargett said.
Hargett said his department also made an arrest in this case Monday. Joshua Mobley, 30, of 1551 Highway 183 in Haleyville, was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree theft of property, second-degree criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and a probation violation.
Mobley is also awaiting a bond hearing in District Court.
