A Christmas poem

Christmas is near and we like to see
Lights all around a green Christmas tree,
Lights on the windows and lights in the town
Sparkling and blinking for us all around.
Children are anxious for Santa to come
They eat chocolate and cookies until there are none.
Can't sleep at night because their excited
Change gifts with others and they're all so delighted.
All are busy gathering gifts to share
Mom wants a vacuum and Dad wants a chair.
Junior wants an I Pod to call his own
Sister wants jewelry and a cell phone.
Grandmother is baking and making candy
Her cooking is delicious, no fine and dandy.
She makes it seem so easy to do
When you thank her she says, "I did it for you."
Our stockings are hanging and waiting for filling
You'll have to wait if you are patiently willing.
Hope all you want will come your way
And you'll have your wishes on Christmas.
Remember those who are needy, cold, and alone
Remember those who don't have a home
Share what you can with others in need
Pray for our military who help us stay free.
