NorthStar delivers Valentine's gifts

A local emergency medical service company presented the residents at three local nursing homes with a gift of love Thursday.
Residents at Terrace Manor, Russellville Health Care and Burns Nursing Home received a balloon with a stuffed animal inside from NorthStar Paramedic Services in Russellville Thursday in honor of Valentine's Day.
"We are presenting these to the pillars of our community for Valentine's Day to show them we care for them," NorthStar Manager Jeremy Glenn said.
NorthStar employees spent several hours Wednesday preparing balloons for delivery on Thursday.
Terrace Manor resident Francis Heaps was surprised by the gift. Her reply was a smile and a hug for Glenn and a simple 'thank you.'
The sight was similar as staff members assisted the company with the delivery of the unexpected gifts.
"We are here for our community and these residents are an important part of our community," Glenn said. "Everything we are today is because their hard work. They are very important to us."
Glenn said NorthStar is working to become more involved in the community and working with the local nursing homes is part of that.
"We have other things planned for the community as we progress," Glenn said.
