Dream Center to distribute 250 meals

The Russellville Dream Center will host an open house Monday night and distribute turkey dinners to area families.
"We just celebrated our one-year anniversary here in Russellville, and we want to give back to the community," said Shawn Reathford, director of the Dream Center. "That's the whole purpose in us being here."
The center is sponsoring the turkey dinners along with Long Lewis Ford, WFIX and attorney Jeff Bowling.
The dinners will include a 12-pound turkey, stuffing mix, four whole sweet potatoes, green beans, corn and other items.
Reathford said in order to be able to get the turkey dinners, a voucher has to be obtained from the Dream Center.
"All they have to do is come in and fill out this form, and we give them a voucher," Reathford said. "We only have 250 vouchers, and we have already given out about 150, so we only have about 100 left."
The dinners will be given out in the parking lot next to the center on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
"We are going to have WFIX here on a live remote," Reathford said.
In addition to the turkey dinner distribution, the center will have a Thanksgiving open house at the same time.
"We want to invite the public to come by and see what's going on here," Reathford said. "We want to remind people that just because the economy is bad doesn't mean that God stops giving. He doesn't stop giving. He keeps supplying."
Reathford said hot chocolate, coffee and other refreshments will be available during the holiday open house.
"We are expecting a huge crowd, over 1,000 people with families and all," Reathford said.
The Russellville Dream Center currently has 45 people enrolled in the program, and they are in the process of expanding their facilities.
