The Phil Campbell football team was unable to end its woes Friday, falling to East Lawrence 20-0.
The Bobcats defense played well throughout the night, but it could not overcome six turnovers by the offense.
"We played good on defense, but we couldn't get it going on offense," Phil Campbell coach Michael Parker said.
East Lawrence opened the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. The two-point conversion failed.
Eagles padded their lead with a 46-yard interception return for a touchdown. This time they were successful on the two-point conversion.
East Lawrence's final score came in the third quarter on a 71-yard touchdown run.
That run was the only time the Phil Campbell defense gave up a big play. The Bobcats held East Lawrence to 123 total yards – 105 on the ground and 18 through the air.
Seth Brown led the defense with seven tackles while Zach Patrick recorded six tackles for the Bobcats.
Phil Campbell quarterback Jordan Benford completed four passes for 55 yards and threw two interceptions. The offense also lost four fumbles.
Daniel Bryant carried the ball 12 times for 46 yards and Dylan Hamby caught three passes for 36 yards.
The Bobcats will host Tanner Friday to open region play.
