Russellville volleyball dominates camps

By Staff
The Russellville High Scool volleyball team has been busy this summer preparing for what they hope will be a historic season.
The team recently attended a skills camp at the University of North Alabama, and returned home with new and sharpened skills. The Lady Golden Tigers also won the title of Team Camp Champs.
"Our players worked extremely hard during the three day camp and became a solid, close-knit team," said Russellville coach Charlotte Dollar.
The team also traveled to Starkville, Miss. to attend another three-day team camp held at Mississippi State University featuring 26 teams from several states.
Senior Cassie Montgomery received an award as the camp's No. 1 setter, quite an honor considering the number of teams and players who attended.
"It was a great opportunity for our girls to play against a very high level of competition. They did some really good things and we were able to identify areas where we need to improve," Dollar said. "We have high expectations for this season and we should be a very exciting team to watch and support."
The Lady Golden Tigers begin formal practice next week.
