Thursday Update: Franklin County gets new extension agent

The Franklin County office of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System has a new face. Katerina Cole has been named the Franklin County Cooperative Agent, replacing long-time agent Tim Reed.
Cole has begun working in Franklin County July 1.
"My goal is to help improve the lives of the residents of Franklin County," Cole said.
Cole is a resident of Lauderdale County but brings with her years of experience in the Extension System.
"I spent nine months as an Agent in Lauderdale County, and nine years as a county extension agent in Colbert County," Cole said.
She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics from the University of North Alabama and master's degree in management from the University of Phoenix.
Extension programming provides educational opportunities to help people, individually and collectively make sound decisions about their lives, businesses, and communities and develop economically, socially and culturally.
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System offers programming and specialists in the following areas: Agriculture, Forestry, Wildlife, and Natural Resources, Urban Affairs and New Nontraditional Programs, Family and Consumer Sciences, Economic and Community Development and 4-H Youth and Development.
