Often times we take for granted all the brave men and women who serve us on a daily basis.
Not just soldiers overseas or in a distant state who are sacrificing for us, but also firefighters, police officers and other first responders and emergency personnel.
It is amazing sometimes what these people have to use equipment-wise.
Fire departments all around Franklin County, as well as the nation, are often scrambling looking for new uniforms and equipment. The federal government has stepped up efforts in recent years to help those departments.
One great example is the Phil Campbell department, which has been awarded $240,000 for equipment and a new truck.
It will be the first new truck they have ever gotten.
It is about time those hard working, self sacrificing folks got what they deserve.
With all the dangers involved in their line of duty, failing equipment is one worry they should not have.
