County retirees looking for benefit inclusion

The Franklin County Commission told representatives from the retirees' association Thursday that they will look into possible increases for them.
Nell Bedford, a former county administrator, asked the commission to look into the benefits increase after failing to do so for the past two years.
Bedford said there are seven retirees who did not benefit the last time the commission implemented an increase.
"This is such a small amount I hope you respectfully consider this," she told commissioners.
Commissioner Rayburn Massey said the commission would look into it during its upcoming budget preparations.
The commission will also speak to local contractors about re-roofing the Elizabeth Lucas Courthouse Annex building. They had previously advertised for bids on the work but did not receive one.
