Robert Holman Craig

Robert Holman Craig, 73, Mt. Hope, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Decatur General Hospital.
Mr. Craig was born in Dale County, resided in Florence for many years, b ut lived in Lawrence County for the past 20 years. He was an Army veteran and received the National Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was retired from Reynolds Alloys with 39 years of service.
He was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather. He was a member of Wheeler Basin Good Sam Camping Club. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping and a good game of cards. Playing dominoes and watching the Atlanta Braves were a favorite pastime.
The funeral service will be Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 4 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville with Vandon Windsor officiating. Burial will following Franklin Memory Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Survivors include wife, Mary E. Craig, Mt. Hope, Alabama; son, James C. (Jim) Craig and wife, Debbie, Florence, Alabama; daughter, Leigh Ann Counts and husband, Thomas, Mt. Hope, Alabama; stepdaughter, Valerie King and husband, Randy, Russellville, Alabama; sister, Jane Craig Jones, Russellville, Alabama; grandchildren, Daniel Gene Craig, Joshua Levi Craig, Tyler Craig Counts, Katy Brooke Counts; step-grandchildren, Brandon King; Kayla King; and several nices and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Daniel Craig, Josh Craig, Tyler Counts, Will Newton and Brandon King.
He was preceded in death by his wife and the mother of his children, Emily King Craig, infant son, Robert David Craig, and wife, Bettie Jones Craig.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: The Ronald McDonald House, Birmingham; Children's Harbor, Birmingham; The Spina Bifida Association, Alabama Chapter.
Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville will be officiating.
