The opportunity to help someone is at hand

The American Cancer Society has adopted a program to help those in need. Now, the ACS needs help – volunteers.
Three years ago ACS founded the Shoals-area "Road to Recovery," a national program that relies on volunteer drivers to transport cancer patients to their doctor's appointments.
ACS has an immediate need for drivers from this county who can drive local patients.
Anyone who has a driver's license, a safe driving record and car insurance and owns a car or has access to one is encouraged to volunteer.
So many people in Franklin County have been affected by the devastating disease and know how hard it can be just getting from place to place.
Now, is the time to help someone in need.
