Saturday Update: Grissom seeks third term

in District One
Russellville City Councilman Craig Grissom has announced his plans to seek a third term representing District One.
Grissom feels his greatest assets include proven experience and leadership in helping manage the city's approximate $8 million annual budget.
"I am like many Russellville residents and am proud of the city's school system and support the administration and staffs in their efforts to prepare our young people for their futures," Grissom said.
He said his voting record reflects 100 percent support for the schools in every issue that has come before the city council.
"I think that shows my dedication and commitment to our schools," Grissom said.
He said he wants to see a continued cooperation between the city and county as industrial recruitment remains a high priority for the area.
During his first term in office, the city and county joined to hire the first industrial recruiter for Franklin County.
While his concerns will be the residents of District One, he understands the entire city's needs are foremost for progress and improvement to occur.
"I have the foresight and leadership required for making decisions with both short and long-term results," he said.
Grissom is married to Donna Poss Grissom, the daughter of the late Ralph and Oneida Poss.
He is an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where he is Sunday School superintendent and a deacon.
He and his wife are the parents of two married children, Nathan Grissom and his wife, Cathy, and Jenna G. Newton and her husband, Jarrod.
They also have a grandson, Brock, and a granddaughter, Baylee.
Grissom said he looks forward to speaking with the people of District One as he campaigns.
He also welcomes any citizen to call him anytime at 332-4642 with concerns or ideas.
