RED BAY-Five people were arrested on drug charges Sunday night concluding a joint investigation by the Red Bay Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.
Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said Daniel Brewer, 29, of 8383 Firehaven Lane in Montgomery, and Sheena Brewer, 36, of 121 Maggie Valley Road in Tremont, Miss, were charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Larry Randall Elliott, 41, of 501 5th Ave. in Red Bay, and Phillip Marshall Jarell, 26, of 38 Valley Road in Golden, Miss., were charged with second-degree attempting to manufacture a controlled substance.
Miranda Timms, 20, of 121 Maggie Valley Road in Tremont, Miss., was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Plott said the arrests were made as a result of the investigation of subjects purchasing pre-cursers to producing methamphetamine.
"We've been watching activity at the Redmont Motel where the subjects in question were going to make meth," Plott said.
He said officers recovered a bottle with liquid meth, small amounts of meth, drug paraphernalia and pills at the motel.
Plott said Elliott was released from custody on a $3,500 but the other defendants remain in custody pending the postage of bond.
