J.W. Turbyfill

J.W. Turbyfill, age 85, of Vina, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Russellville Hospital. He was born September 5. 1922 in Franklin County to P.W. and Sarah Overton Turbyfill.
He was owner of Turby's Service Station for over 50 years and the oldest member of Pilot Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sheila Turbyfill; son, Andy Turbyfill; four sisters and seven brothers.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 16, 2008 at Pilot Hill Baptist Church with Bro. H. Akins officiating the service.
Burial was in the Pilot Hill cemetery.
Mr. Turbyfill is survived by wife of 62 years, Rossia Turbyfill of Vina; son, Tony Lee Turbyfill (Laurel) of Vina; daughter-in-law, Brenda Turbyfill of Vina; brother, Sidney Turbyfill (Eva) of Vina; grandchildren, Elaine Haithcock (Jason) of Russellville, Cheston Turbyfill and Lindsey Turbeyfill, both of Vina; great-granddaughter, Aiden Haithcock of Russellville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service included Terry Wilson, Joel Page, Billy Ray Childers, John Holt, Donnie Wilson and June Holland. Honorary Pallbearers were the Deacons of Pilot Hill Baptist Church.
Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay assisted the family.
Casey Jones

Casey Tulon Jones, age 77, of Red Bay, died Sunday, May 10, 2008 at Helen Keller Hospital.
He was born February 8, 1931 in Monroe, La. He was employed as a boiler maker for 23 years, attended Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church and loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Thomas Jones and Ruby Morrow; son, Thomas Jones; brother, Carl Jones and sister, Pauline Smith.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Mark McCraney and Bro. Cling Holcombe officiating. Burial was in the Single Springs cemetery in Vina.
Mr. Jones is survived by wife of 54 years, Elva Jones of Red Bay; sons, Gary Jones (Ibi) of Portland, Or., Jeff Jones (Kelly) and Brett Jones (Charolette), all of Red Bay; daughters, Tula Jo Bates (Joe) of Tupelo, Miss., and Bretta Wigginton (Chris) of Red Bay; brother, Jesse "Junior" Jones of Hodges; sisters, Joyce Pursera nd Louise Raper, both of Red Bay; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were the grandsons.
Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay assisted the family.
