Over the course of the last several editions, we hope you've noticed several new additions to our newspaper.
I'd personally like to thank Ken Askew and Cheryl Bradford for their regular contributions. Ken's Truth Matters column fills a void that I feel is often overlooked.
It serves as a Christian outreach to those who do not or are unable to attend regular church services.
Religion is an important component to ones overall health. Spiritual health is just as important as physical and mental health.
Cheryl's column, titled Chamber Chatter, lets the general public see what's going on inside the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce is important to the business health of the community.
You may not be a business owner, but the actions of the chamber affect you whether you realize it or not.
This past Friday, in a partnership with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, we published our first line up of Franklin County's Wanted.
Each week, we plan to feature six wanted local fugitives from justice. Ever since I was a kid, America's Most Wanted has been one of my favorite shows.
I've never seen anyone on the show that I knew but I always enjoy watching them being carted away and hear the reporter ask, "Did you see yourself on America's Most Wanted?"
And much like what you see on America's Most Wanted, if you know someone listed in the line up, please don't approach them yourself.
Please call the sheriff's department and let them handle it.
I'd like to thank Sheriff Larry Plott and his investigators for carving out a little time to get this information to the public.
I believe a list such as this benefits everyone involved. People need to see that there may be wanted criminals living among the general population. Also, it never hurts for the public to lend our police officers a helping hand – even if that helping hand is just picking up the telephone.
