Red Bay tennis finishes fifth
MOBILE – The Red Bay boys tennis team finished fifth at the Class 1A-3A state tournament Tuesday.
The Tigers scored 24 points to finish behind Randolph (59), Montgomery Academy (57), Bayside (38) and Altamont (32) in the 10-team tournament.
Three Red Bay singles players advanced to the semifinal round as Matt Young lost to Donoho's Edward Chen 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) on the No. 2 court, No. 3 Toby Gray fell 6-2, 6-0 to Randolph's Anthony Lioce, who won the state title, and No. 6 Kirk Armstrong was beaten by Montgomery Academy's William Heilpern.
Two Tigers doubles teams also made it the semifinals as the No. 1 team of Wesley Jarnigan-Young lost in the semifinals to Randolph's Anthony Rafiee-Lioce, who won the state championship, while the No. 3 team of Gray-Kirk Armstrong lost to Randolph's Huw Smith and Max Huebne.

THS bean supper fundraiser

The Tharptown varsity softball program will hold a bean supper fundraiser Monday, May 5 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the school's softball field.
BASS regional tournament
May 22-23
DECATUR – The BASS Club World Championship (BCWC) Regional Tournament, a qualifier for the World Championship, will be held Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23.
Ten regional tournaments are held throughout the year with winners from each advancing to the BASS Club World Championship, which is set for Oct. 6-11. For more information on the BCWC tournaments, visit www.bassmaster.com.
