Get ready for Relay for Life this week
By Staff
We are less than a week away from the annual American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
It has become one of the largest events each year in Franklin County and this year should be no different.
There is not a person in this county, or any other, who has not been touched in some way by cancer.
Some have lost spouses, others parents and grandparents, while some have been forced to bury their children.
Thankfully we have came far enough through research that there are many people who will be able to walk the survivors' lap during Friday night's activities.
Still, there is so much more we can do and we can do it through efforts such as the Relay for Life. Find someone out there who is representing a team for the Relay and donate what you can.
If you can't offer a monetary contribution, see if you can assist the cancer society in some way.
Cancer is a disease that discriminates against no one and it knows no friends. Unfortunately, it is something we will be fighting for a long time. But we must keep up the fight.
