Larry W. Jones
April 8, 2008
Larry Wayne Jones was born Sept. 16, 1951. He passed away on April 8, 2008, at the age of 56 at Helen Keller Hospital. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Haleyville Fire Department, retired custodian and bus driver from Haleyville High School, and a medic with Jones Ambulance Service.
Funeral services were held on April 11, 2008, with Bro. Hugh Cavender officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Sybil Dean Borden Jones; children, Lonnie Gwin Jones (Brandy McNutt), Nora Joanne Jones Holifield and husband, Shane; sisters, Kathleen Page, Brenda Carden and husband, Roger, Clara Hood; grandchildren, Alisha Denise Tidwell, Summer Tori Jones, Maridy Moore; special nieces, Katie Lee Riddle and Casey LaShae Lane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Talford and Lucy Nolene Jones and his sister, Patricia Diane Jones.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
Deborah Howe
April 13, 2008
Deborah Reese Howe, age 55, of Red Bay, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at her residence. She was born November 21, 1952 in Missouri to J. W. and Virginia Newsome Reese. She was a nurse's aid and attended Bethel Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Ronnie Reese officiating the service. Burial was in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
Ms. Howe is survived by her daughter, Marie Howe, of Red Bay, and a host of family and friends.
Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay assisted the family.
Ethan Bates
April 11, 2008
Ethan Lee Bates, age 10 months, of Haleyville, died April 11, 2008.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Ricky White and Steve Oliver officiating. Burial was in the Thornhill Cemetery.
He is survived by parents, Rabecca Bates, and Jeremiah Struab; grandparents, Allen and Debby Leframboise, and Tracy and Joseph Straub; great-grandparents, Leroy and Fay Brewer, and Carolyn Sutliff; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
Imogene Boshell
April 13, 2008
Imogene Elizabeth Boshell, age 90, of Moody, formerly of Bear Creek, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at UAB Palliative Care. She was a member of Union Grove Congregational Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Pinkard Funeral Home with Bobby Smith and Tim Bailey officiating the service. Burial was in the Union Grove cemetery.
Ms. Boshell is survived by daughters, Judith (Glyn) Erwin, Sharon Boshell, Cherie (Bryan) Scogin, and Monique Boshell; sisters, Ida Mae Gravitt and Pauline Pfaff; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Wilburn Lambert Boshell; parents, Travis Eugene Hagan and Fanie Bell Lovorn Hagan; brothers, Travis, Roy and Bill Hagan; and sister, Grace Duggar.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
