Donnie Horton seeks Commission 3 seat

Donnie Horton has announced his intent to seek the office of county commissioner in District 3.
"I am seeking this office in order to help the people of Franklin County reach towards a more secure future," he said.
"To obtain this security, I will work to improve the outlook for jobs in the industrial markets."
If elected, Horton said he would work closely with the Franklin County Development Authority in an effort to better organize efforts to attract industry.
"I feel strongly that this would be a major step towards improving the employment possibilities and strengthening the economy of our country," he said.
Horton is a life-long resident of the county and a graduate of Russellville High School. He graduated from Northwest Junior College with an associates degree in administration and management.
"My degree is backed up with 32 years of experience in retail management where I have handled personnel matters ad have become an expert at working with a budget," he said. "Additionally, I have dealt with federal and state laws dealing with both labor and safety issues."
Donnie and his wife, Lana, have been married for 25 years. Lana teaches at Northwest Shoals Community College. The couple has three children: Daniel, who is married to Sharla Ayers; David, a student at Belgreen, and Serra, a student at Northwest Shoals Community College.
The family attends Centerview Church of Christ.
