Reporting, fair and balanced

By Staff
Jerry Fancher
What does fair and balanced political reporting mean? Where can you find fair and balanced news reporting?
I believe that the political reporting of the Franklin County Times exhibits fair and balanced reporting at its best. I want to thank Jason Cannon, publisher of the Franklin County Times, for upholding the standard of fair and balanced reporting for his newspaper.
By playing favorites and writing slanted stories, the national press is having a field day with the presidential race. Following are some examples of the national bias:
1. The New York Times ran a front page article that insinuated that John McCain had an improper relationship with a lobbyist. This story was published even though they had no proof that it happened.
2. Hillary Clinton was not scrutinized for claiming to come under sniper fire on a trip to Bosnia in 1996. The national media finally gave coverage to this false report after the conservative Media Research Center's blog reported that to be false.
3. Mitt Romney was hammered from the beginning of his presidential campaign about his Mormon Religion.
4. Mike Huckabee was slammed time and time again for being a Christian.
5. The reporting of Barack Obama's close association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright is perhaps the most slanted of all the reporting bias. When you add the ignoring of Rev. Wright's relationship with Louis Farrakhan to the list, your see the liberal press at its best.
Could it be that most readers and watchers of the liberal slanted press are turning from their coverage, because they do not trust them?
We owe the cable networks and the internet a big thanks for getting out the rest of the story for us to evaluate.
Jason thanks for the fair and balanced reporting of Franklin County's news, and providing a platform for your readers to voice their opinions.
