News Update: Man drowns in fishing accident

RED BAY – The body of a 62-year-old Red Bay man was found around midnight this morning in a creek in Red Bay.
Sheriff's investigators said Johnny Ward, of 100 Pearson Road in Red Bay, apparently fell into the Bear Creek Canal late Tuesday night and drown.
Ward's fishing spot was just off Franklin 11 and was a favorite location of his. Red Bay officers found the body about 20 yards from where his daughter said he regularly set up a fishing site.
