Bulldogs defeat Tharptown 23-4; Bragwell scores 15

THARPTOWN – The Tharptown 6-and-under team didn't have an answer for Belgreen guard Brant Bragwell.
Bragwell scored a finals-high 15 points for the Bulldogs, including 11 in the first half, as Belgreen beat Tharptown 23-4 in Saturday's Franklin County Youth Basketball Organization championship game.
Belgreen raced out to a 13-0 lead in the first half but Colton Malone scored two baskets in the final two minutes of the second quarter to make it 13-4 at halftime.
The Bulldogs opened the third quarter with a score from Hayden Wells and Wylie Boyd added two layups to put Belgreen ahead 19-4 entering the fourth quarter.
In the final period Bragwell converted a driving layup and also hit a jump shot to make the final score 23-4 as Belgreen held the Wildcats scoreless in the second half.
Malone finished with four points to lead Tharptown, while Boyd had six points and 12 rebounds and Wells added two points and three rebounds for Belgreen.
