Roy Eugene Cole, 67, of Double Springs, died Feb. 3, 2008, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. He was the owner of Cole Welding.
Funeral services were held Feb. 7, 2008, at Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville with Ryan Gallagher officiating the service. Burial was in the Frost Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Cole is survived by his children, Sherry Sue Cole of Double Springs, Lisa Alexander of Addison, and Roy Gene Cole and wife, Susan, of Hamilton; step-daughter, Gwen Lemon of Tennessee; former wives, Betty Sue Plemons Cole of Haleyville, and Carolyn Cole of Tennessee; brothers, Reuben Leroy Cole of East Peoria, Ill., John Lee Cole of East Peoria, Ill/, Joseph Aaron Cole of Gillispie, Ill., and Ronald Dale Cole of Pana, Ill.; sisters, Lydia Mae of Chicago, Ill., Pearl Caldwell Miller of Washington, Ill., and Princess Viola Fern Cole Cohan of Pana, Ill.; grandchildren, Tonia (Allen) Long, Lacie Greene, Melissa Cole, Amber Alexander, Ashley Alexander, Danielle Cole, Amanda Cole, Heather Midkiff, and Deanna Midkiff; and a host of relatives and friends.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.

Grace Faye Batey, 85, of Saltillo, Miss., died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Memorial Hospital in Union County after an extended illness.
She was born May 12, 1922, in Red Bay to the late Amos Houston and Katie Bertha James Tubbs.
The daughter of a sharecropper, she grew up all over the south, living in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
The past 30 years of her life were spent in Daytona Beach, Fla., until moving to Tupelo to be near her grandchildren. She worked as a nurses' aide and also as a caregiver for the elderly. She enjoyed sewing. She loved spending time with her friends and her church, Beville Church of Christ in Daytona Beach.
