Time is running out for Franklin County residents to pay their property taxes, if they want to stay on the right side of the law that is.
Monday, Dec. 31 is the final day to pay the piper without incurring late fees and penalties.
"It's been crazy around here all week," Revenue commissioner Don Garrard said. "Every year, people wait to the last few days to pay their taxes and lines have been backed up eight people and more deep."
Garrard said the final blitz will hit his office Monday.
"There will be a line Monday," he said. "All day."
The revenue office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accept payments.
A late penalty of $5 per parcel will be accessed to all those who have failed to pay by the end of business Monday.
