Belgreen girls beat Waterloo in OT

WATERLOO – The Belgreen varsity girls held off Waterloo 51-49 in overtime Tuesday night after a fourth-quarter comeback by the Lady Cougars.
The first half was a defensive struggle as neither team scored in double figures in the first two quarters.
Trailing 18-17 at halftime, the Lady Bulldogs built a 27-23 lead heading into the final period, but Waterloo outscored them 18-14 to force overtime.
Monica Smith led a balanced Belgreen scoring attack with 11 points, while Deborah Billingham had 10 and Martha Billingham added eight. Amber Smith finished with seven points as eight Belgreen players scored.
Jadee Lowe led Waterloo with 13 points.

Waterloo beat Belgreen 63-54 Tuesday night at home in a Class 1A, Area 16 matchup.
Waterloo led 27-22 at halftime as Cory Stevenson, who had a game-high 26 points, scored 12 points in the second quarter.
Senior point guard Kyle Warren led Belgreen with 21 points, and Shane Fretwell had 17.
