    Gaillard T. (Pete) Counts

    Gaillard Turner (Pete) Counts, 89, of Greer, South Carolina, died October 5, 2007 at his home.
    A native of Mount Hope, Alabama, son of the late Solomon Eugene and Lula Alice Martin Counts, he was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a retired employee of BellSouth after 39 years of service, and a Mason.
    Surviving are the mother of his children, Mary C. Counts of Sarasota, Florida; three daughters, Gail Counts Miller and her husband, Robert of Sacramento, California, Susan Marks and Lisa Kopplin both of Florida; a son, William Turner Counts of Florida; four grandchildren, Ryan McKenna, Sarah Miller, Juliet Miller, and Billy Marks; and also survived by his longtime companion, Shirley Studley of Greer, South Carolina and her children and grandchildren.
    Mr. Counts was predeceased by one son, Thomas Eugene Counts.
    A private family burial was held in Flagler Memorial Park, Miami, Florida on Friday, October 12, 2007.
    Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, S.C. 29615.

    Eula Jeanette Tidwell

    Eula Jeanette Tidwell was born August 9, 1919 in Hackleburg. She passed away Oct. 15, 2007 at the age of 88 at her home in Bear Creek. She was a member of Ninth Avenue Church of Christ in Haleyville.
    Funeral services were held Oct. 18. Burial followed at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Bear Creek with Andy Kizer, Glen Posey and Vance Hutton officiating.
    She is survived by her children, Freddy Lee Tidwell, Admiral Dewey (Ruth) Tidwell and Joan Tidwell Thompson; sisters, Ruth Ward, Earnestine Waldrop, Mae Jean Johnson, Martha Greer, Audrey Dobbs and Wanda Setliff; grandchildren, Renee (John) Kloffenstein and Mark Tidwell and great-grandson, Adam Kloffenstein.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Tidwell; parents, Earnest and Fanny Hall; grandson, Thomas Dewey Tidwell; brothers, Leslie Hall, Lecil Hall and Thurston Hall; sister, Sara Gaskin.
    Myrtle Bell Montgomery

    Mrs. Myrtle Bell Montgomery, 86, of Russellville, died Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.
    Mrs. Montgomery was a native of Franklin County but lived in Talladega for 55 years before returning to Russellville. She was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church. She was employed as a dietician by the Presbyterian Children's Home in Talladega for more than 20 years. She was the mother of Faye Mann of Florence.
    Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. at Tharptown Baptist Church with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery.
    The body will lie in state one hour before the service. Officiating will be Chip Martin and Carl Gaston. Visitation will be Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville.
    Survivors include daughters, Faye Montgomery Mann, of Florence; Alice Gray Turner, of Conyers, Ga.; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews,
    Pallbearers will be Andy DeVaney, Rick Hallmark, Randy Hallmark, Anthony Harrison, John King and Neal King.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jackson Montgomery; parents, Glenn Alvie and Eliza Jane Brown King; son-in-law, James Turner; siblings, Zula M. Oliver, Glenn Oscar King, William Wallace King, Ruby King, Virgie King, Munroe King and John Alvie King.
    Lottie Pauline Norton
    October 17, 2007
    Lottie Pauline Norton, 89, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17 at her home.
    Mrs. Norton was a native of Franklin County and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Russellville.
    Funeral services were held Oct. 18 at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Prince and Bro. Elmer Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
    She is survived by sisters, Sue (Charlie) Murner, of Haleyville and Bernice (Jimmy) Dalrymple of Batesville, Miss.; brother, Floyd (Mae) Fisher, of Dumas, Miss.; sister-in-law, Barbara Norton Ghrigsby, of Russellville; three loving cats, Angel, Boots and Speedy; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
    Pallbearers will be Homer Webb, David Cochran, Scott Murner, Doug Barnett, Doug Dalrymple and Mike Barnett.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. "Bill" Norton; parents, Willie and Susie Fisher; sister, Nora Grissom; brother, Ollie Rip Fisher.
    Irene Hall Vickery
    October 15, 2007
    Irene Hall Vickery, 84, of Phil Campbell, died Oct. 15.
    Funeral services were held Oct. 17 at the Phil Campbell Church of God.
    Burial followed in Shady Grove Cemetery with Rev. Donald Davis officiating.
    She was a native of Franklin County and a former resident of Franklin County.
    She is survived by her sons, Wallace Wayne (Donna) Hall, of Pleasant Grove, John (Runett) Hall of Haleyville, Charles (Patricia) Hall, of Haleyville; Billy (Jill) Hall of Olive Branch, Miss.; daughters, Catherine (Elton) Wilkinson, of Phil Campbell, Lydia Haenisch, of Hollywood, Fla.; brother, Harvey (Terah) Kinard, of Phil Campbell; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Kinard; husband, Charlie Gaston Hall and many brothers and sisters.
    Pallbearers will include Mark Crumpton, Keith Hall, Rodney Wilkinson, Clint Hall, Terry Vickery and James McLemore.
    She was a member of Phil Campbell Church of God.
    She has been a Christian all of her life and she always lived a Christian life. She was also a wonderful mother. She taught her children right from wrong. She was greatly loved by her family and respected.
