Sheffield man breaks out of jail

The Franklin County Sheriff's Department is seeking a Sheffield man who allegedly faked an illness to escapee jail custody over the weekend.
Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said that Jessie Ford, 24, of 605 St. Louis Ave. in Sheffield, complained of chest pains Saturday night. He was taken to Russellville Hospital by a corrections officer to seek medical treatment as the on-call registered nurse instructed via the telephone.
"When they were leaving the hospital, the subject bolted and fled custody," Plott said.
Plott said that Ford was brought to the jail July 26, and charged with third-degree burglary, and second-degree theft. Ford's bond had been set at $3,000.
The Sheriff's department is looking for him in the county, and in Sheffield, Plott said.
"We have him registered with NCIC for a nationwide pickup," Plott said.
He added that felt like Ford would surface eventually. Ford was last seen wearing grey shorts, and a white T-shirt. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. He is five feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 164 pounds.
