Rebecca James has been named circulation manager for the Franklin County Times and Classifieds Plus. She replaces Charles Pounders who has accepted a circulation management position with the Times Daily in Florence.
"I am very happy for Charles and wish him the best of luck as he furthers his career," Times Publisher Jason Cannon said. "Charles has been with this newspaper for 10 years and he's done a lot of good things to move this newspaper forward, including pushing it's growth from twice to three times per week."
James, a native of Russellville, has been employed with the Times since March as a news writer.
"We are all excited about the enthusiasm Rebecca has shown in her new role," Cannon said. "She's a dedicated person and a very hard worker. Everyone at the Times is happy for her."
James graduated from the University of North Alabama with a bachelor's degree in Communications Arts in 2004.
In her new role, James will manage the newspaper's carriers, assure the timely delivery of the newspaper and shopper and build a strong customer service relationship with the Times' readers.
"Our readers are our most important customers," James said.
"I'm excited about the challenges that lie ahead and promise I will do my very best to provide the best customer service possible."
James assumed her new position Friday, June 15.
