Wellness celebration planned in Red Bay

RED BAY – The Red Bay medical community will hold a "100 Years of Wellness" celebration in conjunction with the year-long centennial festivities in Red Bay.
The event will be held on Saturday June 9 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Red Bay City Park.
There will be live entertainment by the FFA Quartet from 11:20 to noon. Lakin Poole will perform from 12:15-12:45 p.m. Joseph Baldwin will perform from 1:00-2:00 p.m.. Bittersweet will round off the day's entertainment from 2:15-3 p.m.
Medical professionals will also offer free health screening during the event. Redmont Pharmacy will sponsor free blood sugar screenings.
Keller Home and Healthcare will hold free blood pressure screening and O2 SATS. The Care Center of Red Bay will offer free diabetic classes.
Lunch will be provided at the event and will begin at 11 a.m.
"This is Red Bay's Centennial, and the medical community decided to celebrate it through our 100 years of wellness celebration," Mike Holway, Red Bay Hospital Administrator said.
"We got caught up in the spirit of the centennial celebrations and we decided to host 100 years of wellness as our way of celebrating."
"Through this event, we hope to improve wellness in the city of Red Bay and we also help to increase health care awareness."
"100 Years of Wellness" is sponsored by Bank Independent, the Care Center of Red Bay, ComfaCare Home Health Supply, Community Spirit Bank, Country Cottage, Greenberg EyeCare Professionals, Medical Clinic of Red Bay, Mid South Home Health, Red Bay Hospital, Redmont Pharmacy, Restore, Schofield Medical, Senior Care of Winfield, and Tri State Insurance agent, Kim Wells.
"There will be fun for all age groups," Halloway said, "We hope everyone will come join us."
