A Russellville preschooler won the title of Alabama Cover Miss during the America's Cover Miss and Cover Boy U.S.A. State Finals held in Birmingham April 13-16.
Haylee Hamilton, a 5-year-old who attends Mars Hill Preschool in Russellville, was crowned Alabama Cover Miss April 15, and she will advance to the national competition, which will be held in Orlando, Fla. July 7-10.
She was awarded for selling 275 sponsorship tickets in Franklin County
"A lot of good people from our community helped her with these ticket sales," Jennifer Hamilton, Haylee's mother, said.
Haylee was awarded first runner up, and crowned most beautiful and given the title of Alabama Miss Beauty Winner.
"She received a trophy, a silk sash, a $200 savings bond and her beauty entry fee paid for the Orlando competition," Hamilton said.
While the pageant is helping cover Haylee's hotel accommodations and part of her entry fee, there are many more fees that will have to be paid for Haylee to compete.
"If I paid the fees flat out, it would be about $400 but we are selling ads for the program to help out the pageant as well," Hamilton said.
Ads for the program are $25 for business card ads and $10 for personal message ads.
