Margaret Hester, 84, of Red Bay, died April 17, 2007 at Sunbridge Nursing Home and Rehab in Muscle Shoals.
Funeral services were held April 19 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay. Bro. Larry Hill officiated. Burial followed in Red Bay City Cemetery.
Her husband, Hugh Hester, a grandson, Michael McCarthy, and her parents, preceded her in death.
She is survived by four children, Sondra Tate (Jerry) of Harvest, Linda McNatt (Dale) of Muscle Shoals, Norma Trapp (Jerry) of Tuscumbia, and Randall Hester, of New Orleans, Louisiana; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
Clifford Ray Taylor

Clifford Ray Taylor, 71, of Killen died April 19, 2007.
Funeral services were held April 21 at Shady Grove Cemetery with Bro. Oscar Miles officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Taylor of Killen; sons, David (Julia) Taylor of Snellville, Ga., Joe Woodruff of Killen and Andy Woodruff of Killen; daughters, Sheila Taylor of Lawrenceville, Ga. And Beth (Lake) Tate of Killen; sisters, Racine (Harley) Taylor of Belgreen; brothers, Clovis (Peggy) Taylor of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchild, Olivia Taylor and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vibey and Gaither Taylor and sisters, Peggy Ann Taylor and Maygene Lambert.
He was retired after working at Reynolds for 41 years.
Dr. Raymond U. Shook

Dr. Raymond U. Shook, 88, of Golden, Mississippi, died April 18, 2007 at Southern Magnolia Estates in Golden.
Funeral services were held April 20 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay. Bro. Mickey Trammel officiated. Burial followed in Ridge Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Eva Sartain Shook, of Golden; three children, Jessie Patrick, of Russellville, Donna Cooper (Roy) of Evans, Georgia; and Ray Shook Jr.(Sherry) of Golden, Mississippi; sister, Louise Harris, of Dothan; two brothers, Clois Shook (Val), Pinellas Park, Florida. and Royce Shook (Yvonne), Booneville, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Jason Patrick, Kheri Hefner, Kevin Cooper (Gina), Leah Shewbart (Mike) and Dr. Ramey Shook III; five great-grandchildren, Brooke Shewbart, Chase Cooper, Lane Shewbart, Sydney Cooper, and Cora Cooper.
Dr. Shook was born in Golden, Mississippi on April 6, 1919. He was the son of William Oscar and Jessie Messer Shook, the grandson of William and Mary Elizabeth White Shook, all life long residents of the Golden area. After graduating from Belmont High School, he operated a local cafe and was drafted at the age of 25 into the Air Force for duty during World War II, and was trained as an air traffic controller. After World War II, he enrolled at the Palmer College of Chiropractics in Davenport, Iowa. After graduating, Dr. Shook returned to his hometown and began a private practice which he operated for 54 years. He was a member of Golden Central Baptist Church and was the Sunday School Superintendent.
Pallbearers were Jason Patrick, Ramey Shook, Mike Shewbart, James Thomas Shook, Kevin Cooper, and Joe Bostick.

Joey Dean Bryant

Joey Dean Bryant, 46, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. before the 10 a.m. funeral services, which will be held at Spry Memorial Chapel Sunday, April 22.
Officiating will be Bro. Gerald Ricketts, Bro. Brandon Gann and Bro. Vernie Cummings. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phil Roberson, Wade Hacker, Timothy Raper, Brian Murray, Kevin Bryant, Harold Bryant, Kenneth Bryant and Tim Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Bryant.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Jane Seal Bryant; son, Kevin Bryant, of Ft. Gordon, Ga.; daughter, Kristy Goggans of Russellville; mother, Margarett Todd and stepfather, Hershel of Russellville; sisters, Tina Hacker of Russellville, Sherry Barnett of N. Jackson, Ohio, Pay Kuykendall of Red Bay; grandchildren Braeden and Ella Goggans of Russellville and nine nieces and nephews.
Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
