PHIL CAMPBELL – The Phil Campbell Bobcats overcame a 4-1 deficit going into the seventh inning to squeak by the Curry Yellow Jackets 5-4 Friday night.
Curry struck first in the second inning to bring the game to 1-0.
Phil Campbell answered with a score of their own from Caleb Thompson.
The game remained 1-1 until Curry answered with another score in the fifth inning. Curry continued to dominate the Bobcats, posting two more scores in the top of the 7th inning to put the Yellow Jackets up 4-1.
With the game seemingly out of reach, Caleb Thompson once again answered the call for the Bobcats in the bottom of the seventh, hitting a double and driving in Stephen Lacey, Dillon Hamby, and Jonathon Dill to tie the game.
The Bobcats put the final nail in the coffin at the bottom of the eighth inning as a single by Stephen Lacey drove Bailey Welborn in for the win.
Dill was the winning pitcher.
