A former employee of East Franklin Junior High School has been arrested after allegedly stealing money from the lunchroom during her time of employment.
Tebra Morgan Lindsey, 35, of 9366 Highway 243 in Phil Campbell, was charged with first-degree theft of property late Thursday afternoon. She is accused of taking somewhere between $15,000-$18,000 while employed at the school, Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said.
"The money was taken from the school's nutrition fund when she worked as a cafeteria employee," Plott said.
The alleged theft occurred during the 1996-97 school year. First-degree theft of property is a class B felony, punishable by two to 20 years in prison, according to the Code of Alabama. Lindsey was released on $4,000 bond.
