Mitchell, Athanas

Mr. and Mrs. John Mitchell Jr. of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Marcelle, to Evan Constantine Athanas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dinos Athanas of Charlotte, N.C.
The wedding will be Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Meridian.
Miss Mitchell is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis John Marcello Sr. of Houma, La., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Mitchell of Meridian.
The bride-elect is an honors graduate of Lamar High School. She received a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Mississippi.
While at Ole Miss, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority where she served as vice-president of social development and new member educator.
Mr. Athanas is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Funcheon of Boston, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Evan Athanas of Athens, Greece.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Charlotte Catholic High School. He received a degree in economics from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
While at UNC, he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
He is employed by Annheuser-Busch where he serves as vice-president for the Mid-Atlantic Region.
