The next meeting for the Meridian Downtown Association is Monday at 8 a.m. The East Mississippi Business Development Corp. Lauderdale County's chief economic development agency is hosting the meeting in its boardroom.

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites in Meridian received the IHG Systems Newcomer Award last month.
Steve Mann, general manager of Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites, accepted the award on behalf of the owners and staff at the IHG Systems Investors and Leadership Conference in Chicago.
The Newcomer Award winners are hotels that exceed in customer satisfaction, set standards, and are innovators in the IHG Systems hotel brands. These hotels provide guests with superior service and a well-maintained product.
