NEWTON Services for Ola Kate Wheeler will be held today at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Wheeler, 82, of Coal City, Ill, formerly of Newton died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at Heritage Manor in Dwight, Ill. She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Margaret A. Frost and Jessie Carol Watters, both of Morris, Ill.; sons, Billy R. Wheeler of Beggs, Okla, Fred Wheeler of Gulfport, Edward Wheeler of Kellyville, Okla., Randy Wheeler of Sapulpa, Okla. and David Wheeler of Crown Point, Ind.; a brother, Carlton Rush of Jackson and a sister, Del Kelly of Meridian; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Wheeler; a daughter, Karen Denise Farley; parents, Sim Frank and Mamie Parker Rush and a brother, Franklin Rush.
Pallbearers will be William Ray Wheeler Jr., Thomas Wheeler, Timmothy Wheeler, David Wheeler Jr., Anthony Suggs and Joshua Tkacsik.
GULFPORT Services for Melissa Marquez will be held today at 12:30 p.m. at Riemann Funeral Home with Monsignor James McGough officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum.
Mrs. Marquez, 36, of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Meridian, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., after a six-month battle with cancer. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1986, and attended the University of Alabama where she earned a bachelor's of science degree. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She completed law school at the University of Mississippi and served on the Mississippi Law Journal. While at Ole Miss, she met and married Johnny Marquez of Gulfport. After graduation, they moved to Alexandria, and she began working with the Board of Veterans' Appeals at the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs. She served as president of the Mississippi Society in Washington, D.C., and was an active member of her community and church. But her main and most cherished role was taking care of her three beautiful children. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, friend, daughter and sister. Even to the very end of her courageous struggle to fight cancer, she never missed one of her children's school or athletic events. She always put the needs of her family and friends before her own.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Marquez; daughters, Marquerite Marquez and Lilly Marquez; a son, John Marquez, all of Alexandria; her parents, Lix Joseph Frug Jr. and Peggi Frug; a brother, L.J. Frug and his wife, Nicola, all of Meridian; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Marquez and Joan Marquez; and a sister-in-law, Yvette Marquez, all of Gulfport.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.
Visitation will be held Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Services for Hugh Carroll Cook will be held today at 1 p.m. at Andrews Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Lofton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cook, 76, of Meridian, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Andrew Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eula Cook of Meridian; sons, Hugh Terry Cook and his wife, Paula, of Covington, Tenn., and Carroll McKenny Cook and his wife, Dianne of Collins; a daughter, Sandra Elaine Thrasher and her husband, Kurt, of Meridian; grandchildren, Candace Cook, Courtney Cook, Caylor Cook, Stefanie Jane Cook, Warren Eugene Watts and his wife, Amy, and Tarrah Thrasher; one great-grandchild, Natalie Gene Watts and a nephew, Frankie Bailey of Foley, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Linday Tisdale, Charles Jolly, Walter King, Dr. Allen Till, Kells Parker, Howard Trawick, Shortie McKee, Bob Rawson and Harold Seaner.

Services for Bertha Whitehead Hutchinson will be held today at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. David Dewease and Jimmie Gunn officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Hutchinson, 89, of Meridian, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her son, Arthur I. "Sonny" Hutchinson Jr. of Suqualena; a brother, Clinton Whitehead and his wife, Sue, of Lauderdale; granddaughter, Cathy Limerick Clearman of Bailey; grandsons, John S. Limerick of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Charley Hutchinson of San Francisco; step-grandsons, Barrie Limerick of Birmingham, Ala., and Zena Limerick of Bailey; great-grandchildren, Dawn, Kimberly, Steven, Heather, Brandi and Erin; great-great-grandchildren, Kris, Mykel, Summer and Dyllan; and several nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Marguerite Dooley of Meridian.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Arthur I. Hutchinson Sr. and a daughter, Sara Lois Limerick; a son, Charles E. Hutchinson; a grandson, Travis Wayne Limerick and a special companion, Winfrey Smith.
Pallbearers will be Zena Limerick, Bruce Whitehead, Thomas Rigdon, James Rigdon, David Wade Mixon and Joe Nicholas.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the family in the fellowship hall of Macedonia Baptist Church after the service today.
Memorial services for Doris LuCille Stuart will be held at a later date at the Church of the Mediator with the Rev. Mike Dobrosky officiating. Burial will be in the church columbarium. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stuart, 84, of Meridian, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Regency Hospital. She was a member of the Church of the Mediator.
Survivors include her daughter, Anna Stuart Herrington and her husband, Robert W., of Atlanta.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John H. "Jack" Stuart.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
